1 Star too small
I have this bag and do not like it at all. It is way too small! All the pockets are great but if you put anything in the pockets you have no room inside the bag in the main space. It’s so frustrating! I can hardly fit all that I need and I just have a newborn so there isn’t a ton that I need at this point. The stroller clips are why I bought it and it is nice but not worth it when I cannot fit what I need into the bag.

3 Stars It’s just OK
Loved the look of it on-line – then saw it in a store so I ordered. For me it doesn’t have enough room. I’m a new Mom so perhaps I’m not as efficient as I need to be – so maybe I’ll love it later, but for now, it’s just OK. I’m using it and don’t plan to buy another to replace it at this point, so hope it gets better.

5 Stars Awesome bag!
Looked at this one and many others for when baby #6 arrived… Having kids spaced out with between 20-32mo apart I needed something that could last and hold the pull ups and clothes for the potty trainer, the diapers and snacks for toddler and diapers and spit rags/clothes and more for the newborn… I would say that since it is tall, it might have been better to be a bit wider… However we manage, I may reorganize and that could help with that problem.

I love how I can have everything organized and the separate cell phone pocket is a huge plus!

The colors/pattern makes it fun and not the dull plain ones I have. The shoulder pad actually makes me feel like I’m carrying less! I upgraded to this bag from a Mini Carter’s bag + Purse to just this, totally worth it!

3 Stars Frustrating
I do like that this bag has lots of pockets but I must agree with other posts in that the main compartment becomes unreachable if you put anything in the smaller pockets. This bag does not open up enough to carry everything. Also when hanging on my stroller (a Chicco) I can not reach into the bag because its pulled too tight across. I am stuck taking the bag on and off anyway if I need anything. The idea of of the stroller hanging straps is a good one and may work better on a stroller with a less wide handle.

4 Stars Perfect size when out-n-about
I have the Skip Hop Duo in Blossom. Kinda sporty style, mod & pretty, too! I’m pregnant with my 2nd child & have an almost 2 yr old. My kids will be 21 months apart. I did not research diaper bags with my first baby. I just bought or registered for what I liked and seemed affordable. I wound up with a beautiful laptop-looking herringbone dipe bag from Wal-Mart that was huge & when slung over my shoulder, the straps were too short! I’m 5ft. 1 in. & petite btw. I bought a GORGEOUS Bella Tunno bag from Gap, but it was too large for everyday trips to the store or friend’s homes. Then I bought a Land’s End tote with monogramming. Classic, could be used later, but my son was walking by this point and after a day at the mall play area, I realized I needed a smaller, hands-free option. I ended up using my free Similac dipe bag from the hospital. As a gal who loves purses, this was functional, but not ideal. I researched like crazy this time from websites to magazines to watching youtube vids (very helpful). It came down to the Serena & Lily Gypsy tote ($164), JJ Cole System 180 ($70-80), JJ Cole Mode ($60) & this Skip Hop Duo.

S & Lily was out not only because of the much higher price, but I needed something a bit more practical with pockets on the outside at this point (I still want this bag, though, maybe a Christmas gift!). The System 180 was still a bit larger than what I was looking for, but great for longer trips! The Mode had great reviews, but what sold me on Skip Hop Duo was the built in Shuttle Clips, I never have to worry about forgetting them like with JJ Coles Grips. Plus, I wanted something a bit more streamlined & it looks more like a bag you might take to work (I’m a high school teacher, now SAHM).

It’s true that once you start filling up the outside pockets, the inside gets cramped, but this forces me to take a bit less. I’ve packed it for 2 kids already. I keep 4 dipes & change pad in large back pocket, clothes (in bottom)& snacks (on top) in the main compartment and then find places for all the little stuff. The small zip pocket on top is perfect for my lipgloss, sunglasses & wallet (you just have to have a smaller wallet). PERFECT For a run to the store or friend’s home. I decided if I’m going somewhere like the zoo, I’ll pack this Dipe bag same as above, I always take in a mini softsided cooler for snacks/drinks. Then I’ll keep my Land’s End Tote in the car stocked for the actual rare emergencies when I need 3 changes of clothes and tons of diapers. The over packing for emergencies is what does me in sometimes, so I’m willing just to keep a tote in the car for the extras that many times aren’t needed.

Oh and get the pacifier pocket! I love this thing. Frees up more space in the bag. Wish I had one with my son. Long review! Hope that helps.

4 Stars Great system…color not true to picture (strata)
We got the strata system as a present and Love the Flip-it feature and contrary to some previous reviews, driving with the reversed handle was not an issue at all, just took a little getting used to, like driving your car in a different seat position. The color for the Strata, however, looks very nice bright, fun Tiffany-type blue in the Amazon picture, but in reality it is really a muted blue/green that has a bit of gray tinge to it. Nice and gender neutral, but I had hoped for the nice bright cheery blue. I ended up using a cover for both for the upcoming female arrival, but the blue/green/gray color should do well for a male in the future. The stroller and carseat are nice and light and very easy to use and maneuver. We had a hand-me-down Quattro system that was just really bulky and big and heavy, so this is a wonderful change!

5 Stars Jordan2010
I absolutely love this travel system. My favorite feature is the flip handle so you can face your baby towards you or away from. It was a little difficult to put together but I think thats a operator error more than the actual stroller. The patterns can be used for a boy or a girl too. Easy to take the actual car seat in and out of the stroller. Would recommend.

5 Stars LOVE this stroller combo!
Another review from someone who hasn’t actually used this with a baby yet…but I have already purchased it, based on my researching strollers for almost a year via online reviews and in-store experimenting. There are a lot of great strollers out there that cost big bucks, but I wasn’t willing to pay $500+ for a stroller. I love this one because it’s lightweight and has a slightly-narrower wheel base than most of the other stroller systems I tried out (this stroller weighs 19 lbs, compared to the 28-33 lb ones I was trying out), and is VERY easily maneuvered with one hand. The color scheme is gender-neutral. BRU has it for about $30 more in a grey and yellow scheme. I like the Strata, which is what I purchased. It’s very pretty, and the aqua is just slightly brighter than pictured — not garish at all, and aqua enough to not automatically scream “baby-boy pastel blue!”

My favorite part about this stroller is that the handle swivels so that you can push the baby facing you, or facing outward. Most the travel systems let the baby face you when they’re in the snap-on infant carrier, but unless you go really pricey, it’s hard to find one that lets the kid face you once they’re out of the infant carrier. I found one other that did, but you have to move the seat itself, which takes time, effort, and can’t be done with the child in the stroller. At one year old (when the baby outgrows the infant carrier), Mom is still the most interesting thing out there for most kids, and I want to be able to interact with my baby as I’m pushing him, vs. having him isolated from me and staring out at the world. The handle swivel mechanism is very easy to use, but locks in place with a nice, secure feel.

The one and only tradeoff with this stroller (for me) is the lack of a storage tray for drinks, keys, etc. Because the handle swivels over the stroller body to change the seat from facing inward to outward, they didn’t put a tray on the handle. If it were me, I would have designed a reversible tray so that it worked from both directions, but they didn’t. What they did do was provide one cup-holder that sits on the handle off to the side, and can swivel with the handle. For me, that’s an acceptable trade-off, but it might be a deal-breaker for others.

This came with the stroller, carseat/carrier, and the stay-in-car carseat base. As with most products containing plastic products, this smelled when I first took it out of the box. I set it outside for a couple days to off-gas, and I’m going to wash the fabric parts before using…but the smell dissipated very quickly.

3 Stars Some Pros- Some Cons
I bought the Flip It Travel System (From Babies R Us) when my son was two weeks old. I wish I could have gotten the turquoise color, but only a yellow/gray pattern was available (haven’t seen it on Amazon)- but it’s not annoying at least, so its fine. We’ve had the travel system now for about 6 months.

PROS: Carrier is birth-22lbs (which is what we wanted b/c I don’t want to lug around a 30lb baby plus the weight of the carrier). The straps are easy to adjust and our carrier came with two head supports- the smaller one was removed when our son out-grew it, and it has adequate padding. The base is easy to install, can be done with latches and seat belt. The stroller also has two elastic bands with latches to secure the carrier in the stroller.

Stroller is sturdy and has lots of features- easy to use adjustable handle, removable parent cup holder (only one though), big basket, double foot brakes, big canopy. It is easy to fold DOWN, and it is easy to steer ***when the handle is in the normal position***.

CONS: The stroller can not be opened one-handed unless you’re a magician- it takes two hands. This isn’t a big deal to me because I just open it before doing anything else. The cup holder sticking out on the side gets in the way and sometimes gets hooked on things- but it is removable.

The biggest con is the steering when the handle is flipped! I was excited to use this feature when my son was big enough to sit in the stroller without the infant carrier. I’ve used it a couple of times now with the handle flipped and I was so disappointed- it is totally useless to push the stroller with the handle flipped. The back wheels are stationary, and when they become the front wheels- trying to turn the stroller is like skidding jammed grocery cart wheels accross carpet! It seems like common sense to me to put “all-wheel steering” on a stroller like this if the back wheels can become the front wheels.

Conclusion- I like the stroller and the carrier- but the Flip-It feature needs to have compatable engineering in the way of movable wheels for it to even be practical or useful.

3 Stars Meets Our Needs
We had a Graco Metrolite but exchanged it for the Alano flip it. Here are my thoughts and they are mostly concerning the stroller:

-It was easy to assemble for me and looks nice.

-I agree with the other users that using the stroller when flipped was awkward as the swivel wheels get in your way. I read somewhere that you can lock the wheels and that helps but to maneuver the thing would be kinda hard. I’m not sure if height, walking speed or even the length of your legs will be a factor. Try it on a store to find out first.

-The bar on the basket can be pushed down to widen access but it makes a snapping noise no matter how gentle you are and startles our newborn most of the time

-Stroller does not fully recline (maybe lacks about 45 degrees to be fully flat)

-Cup holder gets in the way but it can easily be removed

-Easy to fold one handed; most of the time requires 2 hands for opening or in my case, I use my foot to “nudge” the back to open. It’s possible opening it by one hand by “flipping it open”

Please test it in the store to find out if it meets your requirements.

5 Stars Love this!! Such a great system!
This is an awesome Travel System!! I got it in the new color, Midori, and the green just pops! it has so many great features and is super light and easy to use compared to other travel systems. The stroller is easy to fold/unfold with one hand (and maybe a hip thrown in here and there), it is far from clunky or over sized. I get compliments all the time about it and it is super easy to get around with, my friend who also has one has taken it camping and it does great!

5 Stars We love this travel system!
We have been so happy with our Chicco Cortina travel system! Everything about it is practically perfect. My favorite features include:

– 4 cup holders & a small item case, plus a basket underneath for more storage

– easy to remove car seat cover & pads to wash

– I can remove it from my trunk & unfold it all with one hand

– canopy rotates down to cover my baby’s face when facing the sunlight

– adjustable handle bar

– the carseat base is SO nice & easy to use

– the color schemes & fabric are very stylish, easy to clean, and durable

– carseat snaps in SO easily to both the stroller & the base, it’s very easy to use

– unlike other strollers we’ve both used & tested, none of the adjusting mechanisms have EVER jammed or given us trouble. After over a year of frequent use, it still functions like new

We just recently stopped using this system since our daughter has outgrown it, but we have another baby on the way and the stroller & travel system is still in great condition & has worn well – we’ll be using it again!

I highly recommend this product, it’s worth the extra price. We tested out ALL of the strollers we could find, and this one both rides & folds/unfolds better than them ALL. This travel system literally screams “GOOD DESIGN!” and honestly, as a parent with a million baby products, that is very rare. The Chicco Cortina is a winner in my book.
